Commerce Shift is a series of video interviews with ecommerce industry experts hosted by Shogun. Topics include perfecting D2C brand experiences, taking advantage of data and analytics, and predictions for the future of ecommerce.
brand design
Since Commerce Shift is a sub-brand of Shogun Frontend, the colors and typeface were already determined when I started designing the brand.
The goal of the brand was to convey 1) the concept of the always "shifting" ecommerce industry and 2) an immediate visual connection to ecommerce.
Because the word mark already had "commerce" in it, I decided to focus on the "shift" aspect in the logo itself, while reinforcing the ecommerce connection through the secondary brand elements.

video thumbnail design
I used the thumbnail design as an opportunity to pressure-test the brand I had put together. I was looking for a flexible layout that could be adjusted for longer episode titles or multiple guests.
The marketing design lead and I landed on the final thumbnail design because of its clean yet expressive design and its flexible layout.

animated intro
The beginning of each episode of Commerce Shift was an opportunity to make a great first impression with a branded animated intro.
Similar to the brand design, the intro should quickly communicate the connection to ecommerce and the concept of the "shift" in the industry.
I put together a storyboard to hand off to a freelance animator that brought the intro to life. We worked on a couple rounds of revisions and music selection together and ended up with a quick, sophisticated clip to engage viewers from the first second of each episode.

social + ad imagery design
Like the thumbnail design, the social episode announcements had to be consistent yet flexible to account for longer titles and multiple guests. Using a template approach allowed for quick production of the asset once we were ready to take the episode live.
In addition to announcing the episode release, I wanted to show viewers through the quote imagery what kind of insights they might get from watching an episode of Commerce Shift. I designed each image a bit differently based on the content of the quote.
To allow for a longer quote preview, I also designed a carousel social post template. I worked with the social media manager to find concepts and talking points to highlight from the episodes and produced 3 carousel posts per episode. This would give us plenty of material to continue promoting Commerce Shift for months to come.

landing page
The episodes needed a home and the marketing team needed a way to collect viewer information, so a landing page was the perfect solution. I worked with the marketing design lead to put together a branded and easy-to-navigate landing page, including thumbnails designed specifically for the page.
