RADPORTAL site design
Visual site design
Design a branded and intuitive visual experience for the RADPORTAL, a site created for physicians ordering x-ray, MRI, and other imaging scans at Mass General.
Using clean shapes and a simple color palette, I developed the visual system for this digital information hub. The physicians' jobs keep them super busy so I wanted to prioritize organization, legibility, and simplicity.
Based on user surveys, the site is visually easy to navigate for the physicians so they can quickly find the information they need to efficiently care for their patients.
RADHUB icon design
Create an icon system to assist users in navigating RADHUB, the Mass General Radiology intranet website, while reinforcing the Mass General brand.
Using a simplified color palette from the Mass General brand, I put together these 5 iconography concepts below. I wanted to provide a range of icons from friendly to professional so the project team could choose which voice felt most appropriate.
The project team chose the second set of icons from above. I created the rest of the icons required for the site and worked with the web developer on our team to get them uploaded to RADHUB. While the team didn't choose my favorite concept (farthest right above), the icons feel like they visually belong because of the cohesive design and they help the user navigate the page more easily.
massgeneral.org icon design
Develop Imaging specific icons in accordance with design guidelines set by the hospital’s central marketing team for the new Mass General external facing website.
I provided a few different designs for each requested icon and, together with the director of marketing, chose which icons worked best for each title. I varied how much of the navy, blue, and white was used in each icon to make them easy to visually differentiate on the webpages.
Because I designed the set of icons to be specific to radiology, patients can navigate the Mass General imaging site more quickly and easily while remaining consistent with the visual branding of the rest of the website.
